    • Banner Johnson is redefining country music and taking it back to its traditional roots, with a sprinkle of soul. Banner writes “with no damns given” and focuses heavily on the poetry of the song. You’ll find just about every song of his having that bluesy undertone and it’s emphasized not just by his vibrato, but his swagger.

      Residing in Johnston County, NC since 2007, Banner’s eclectic influences reflect a rich tapestry of experiences. Banner discovered a profound affinity for Blues and Americana legends like Muddy Waters and Johnny Cash. Banner’s travels across the globe ignited a newfound appreciation for diverse cultures and their musical expressions. In 2017, he wrote the first dance song for his sister’s wedding and that’s when he started to take music serious.

      Banner received an acoustic guitar as a Christmas gift in 2018, marking the beginning of his guitar-playing journey at the age of 36. His first single, “Smoke,” graced the compilation album Evil In Diana in 2021. Collaborations with producers Steven De Smedt and Ariel Delgado brought forth numerous singles in 2023, with “The Road is Callin'” and “Where The Oaks Grow”.

      With several live performances under his belt, Banner eagerly anticipates the release of his debut album in 2024. ​Country music has been waiting for an artist such as Banner and I do believe he will take the world by boot-stompin’ force! Banner’s album, “Gasoline and Purple Weed” is set to debut on June 6th on all platforms.
